In the cold, antiseptic air of the morgue, a white bodybag lies on a stainless steel examining table. Inside is a beautiful corpse. A slim girl, maybe in her twenties, her clothes disheveled. A flower print halter covers her top, her skirt has ridden up to reveal her plain panties. A single abrasion, angry red in the center of her forehead is the only visible clue to her ultimate demise. The med tech, familiar with her job, first moves and stretches all of the body’s limbs to undo the rigor mortis that had set in. Next, she carefully removes all of the girl’s clothes, leaving her naked on the cold, metal table.

Step-by-step, the tech does her job, scrutinizing every inch of the cadaver’s pale skin, looking for clues. Nails are scraped, the entire body scanned with a black light, looking for any biological residue. The girl’s mouth is opened to take swabs inside the oral cavity. Her legs are spread wide, opening up her vagina, so it can be examined, another swab taken of the tender tissues. The body is rolled over so that the anus may be studied, her most private areas now on display and photographed. Even her pretty breasts are squeezed and groped; all part of the exam, I assure you. Once her young body has been examined, the findings catalogued, she is covered in a plain, white sheet, her final farewell as her body cools in the morgue.
